I have attempted to reinstall the audio driver numerous time to remedy this issue. Audio sounds just fine through the iMac's normal speakers. The sound issue isn't apparent when the headphones are unplugged. The volume controls don't change the loudness of the tone. It's as though any sound that is meant to come from the audio output is a consistent high-pitch tone. For me, it instead emits a high-pitch tone for a few seconds, and then it ceases. For example, if I have my speakers plugged into my iMac via a 3.5mm audio jack, and change the volume of the headphones output from the taskbar, Windows should emit a pleasant chord sound to test the audio volume. Whenever I attempt to use audio through my headphones port, I hear a shrill high-pitch tone.

The installation of Windows performed successfully, and the Boot Camp drivers were installed correctly too - apart from the sound driver it seems. I have macOS Big Sur 11.5 installed at the time of the Boot Camp installation of Windows.

I have recently reinstalled Windows 10 Home on my 2017 iMac 27". High pitch tone when plugged into 3.5mm headphone jack - Windows 10 - iMac 2017 Hey team. Could it be a problem with CoreAudio and how would I resolve it? So I am thinking that both Audio Interfaces are OK, and that the problem is not with either the DAW or Audacity. My Audio Interface is outputting sound from my DAW and Audacity with no issues. It responded to the incoming audio but again it would not pass to either my DAW or Audacity. I have a second Audio Interface in a Novation X-Station keyboard, I switched to this. I tested it with Audacity to eliminate the DAW, Audacity failed to register the audio too. However I needed to record audio into my DAW via the Audio Interface and it seems that although it is receiving the sound (meters and lights are flashing) the audio is failing to get through to my DAW.

This went well with a few little hurdles as you would expect and all seemed to be working well. I had been migration from Mac to Mac for many years and decided on a clean sweep.

I hope someone can assist me with a newly discovered issue I replaced my iMac a few months ago installing a 1GB SSD and a clean install of Mojave and all my applications. I contacted Benchmark and they are unaware of any issue, and since there is no installed driver to use the DAC with a Mac, there is no new Monterey driver or anything to reinstall.Īny thoughts, or has anyone experienced any similar problems? This seems to be very specific to the Benchmark DAC, but it certainly seems to be caused by something in the new OS, so I'm kinda stuck.Īudio not passing from Audio Interface(s) to DAW Hi, I've tried resetting the connections and settings, restarting all of the components, restarting my Mac in safe mode, but nothing has worked.

If I switch to a different USB sound output that connects to external computer speakers, all of the apps work fine, so the problem seems to be limited to the Benchmark DAC. If I connect the USB cable from the DAC to my MacBook running Sierra, it works fine, so it's not a problem with the DAC or the stereo components. The connection is still there, since the DAC will show changes in bit rate settings coming from the source, but no sound. The computer is hard-connected to a FiOs router through an ethernet cable (not wifi or bluetooth) and everything had been working great prior to the move to Monterey, but now none of the apps will send sound to the DAC. I had been streaming music to a stereo system from my Mac through USB connected to a Benchmark DAC3 B using Qobuz, Tidal, and Apple Music. I'm experiencing a strange problem since updating my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) to OS Monterey.
